Today, Ethan attended his first wedding. His Uncle McKade and (now) Aunt Maycie were joined in marriage this afternoon. They were planning on getting married in June (and will still have a ceremony and reception then), but some circumstances in her family prompted a decision to speed up the process. It was rather a whirlwind affair. They went to Parowan today to buy a marriage license, and were told the judge had a 5:00 spot open, and they decided to take it. In spite of the short notice, all of McKade's immediate family were able to be there—even Heather, who lives in St. George!
Terral and I took it upon ourselves to document the occasion.
I was really liked the judge. She was very kind and thoughtful. She emphasized the sacred nature of marriage, and said some really beautiful things.
I enjoyed watching McKade look at Maycie. It was really sweet. :)
Ethan wanted to greet the bride and groom afterward.
Congratulations, you two! Welcome to the family, Maycie!
